Tick
Tick - Inktober Day Fourteen, 2021
She was looking to purchase a spaceship. But couldn't make the decision as she had a low budget. Low, especially to buy a spaceship. But she had to buy one as there was no other way she could help a group escape the dying lands. She was mocked by fellow members of the Protectors of the dying lands. They had to stay there and make sure no other living being is alive on this planet. Or so the spokesperson liked to dramatically convey that they'll evacuate everyone before they leave.
Her decision to help this group was not entertained by anyone else. They all had simple job. Protect the dying lands from unknown threats, while making sure no living being is left behind. No matter what, they can't buy the whole means of transport for the people that had to leave. But how else will they leave? She asked, but no one wanted to give the obvious answer. Through the Cloud Transport.
It is a public transportation system that was hijacked by the unknown forces. It is unsafe now.
She didn't know what to do as the spaceship she had to buy was unnecessarily expensive. If she put most of her money on this, with no guarantee on getting the spaceship back when she returns, she won't be living the kind of dream life she could otherwise.
She finally made the decision to let things flow by themselves.
But she was second guessing herself. She felt guilty for the fact that they had to go through that system.
She went to a cliff to enjoy the scenery for a while, as this is the last few moments of this scenic landscape.
Then she asked the skies, " Please give me a sign I am right!"
Dark clouds suddenly appeared in the distance. She heard rumblings.
Thunder ripped through the air. It was in the shape of a tick mark.
