Loop - Inktober Day Nineteen, 2021

The warrior knew he had to fight the dragon, and there was no way to sugarcoat it. After all, the dragon stole his lollipop when he was a kid. But, now he's grown up. It's time to fight back. But the dragon also grew up. What they say about dragons is not assuring either. Dragons supposedly grow thousand times stronger than their childhood. And they can massacre an entire village in their younger years. So, now it's an impossible mission, but what's the point if one doesn't even try?

They tried to warn him of all possible outcomes if he trains to kill it. But he didn't want to kill it. He just wanted to take its fun away just like the dragon did when he was a kid. A petty reason, but there was nothing else that excited him like this did. And it sure was a fun thing to look forward to.

He was told that when the dragon is having fun chasing its tail is the last moment he'd want to provoke it. It might not care for your provocations even while hunting for food, as a single human doesn't satisfy the hunger of a dragon, and he was to go alone, as no one else thought they were foolish enough to risk their lives on purpose for a mission this silly. So, the dragon would leave him alone, as it needs bigger fish to fry.

The other things to keep in mind were to take the sword forged with dragon blood, as it does more damage than a normal sword. It's better to go in the sun as the dragon can sense another being in darkness better than you can, so it'd be riskier for you. It's better to have at least 4 person team to take down one dragon. As the weapons are limited, they couldn't narrow down the number to better the chances of killing.

But he disregarded all of that. Few weeks later, he left the village, without bidding goodbye. He didn't want to make it any more painful.

The dragon was chasing its tail in loops. But he was adamant on getting its attention. So, he tried reflecting the sun on dragon's face, by moving his sword. He only brought the sword to do this. Because he knew this would be his last day, so why not go out the most savage way possible and fight the dragon with bare fists. Foolish... but also savage.

He waited till it saw him and while it was slowing down the tail chasing fun, he was walking towards the edge of the cliff. The dragon exhaled, in a way that felt like mocking this puny being's failing attempt to kill it.

Slowly dancing around, suddenly it charged at him in full speed, he was calm and ready on the cliff looking directly into the dragon's eyes, he stabbed the nearby rock with his sword, and took a stance with his fists at his chest level. The dragon knew this sign as a fighting stance and was surprised.

Finally when the dragon collided with him, the cliff was completely destroyed.

As the dust cleared, the sword was struck in the dragon's eye, while the warrior was dead.

The dragon thought to itself that, this was much more fun than chasing its tail.

As the dragons have some magical abilities it brought him back to life.

It took a while for him to realize what happened.

"How am I still alive?" He asked.

"I brought you back to life," Dragon replied.

"But... why?"

"I never had this kind of rush in my life. I want to experience this till I no longer feel it."

He took a while to process that and said, "What if I don't want to?"

"Well, does it look like you have a choice?"
